July 2018 - Minnesota-based professional management services company Aalto, LLC (d/b/a “Aülto”) announced it has acquired substantially all of the assets of Dr. Jay Lou’s Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology Clinic ("AAIC"). AAIC is a well-established and highly regarded provider of allergy and asthma specialty medical services with clinic locations in Shoreview and Stillwater, Minnesota. Aülto will provide its clinical and administrative support services to AAIC’s providers, staff, and patients with an emphasis on improving the quality of patient care and overall patient experience.
Aülto’s management team is enthusiastic about the partnership. Russ Rosckes, CEO of Aülto, emphasizes that “AAIC and Aülto are a natural fit for each other. Both organizations are aligned that the highest quality of patient care and experience is best accomplished in an independent setting”. Jon Farnsworth, COO and General Counsel of Aülto, noted “physicians want to remain independent, but don’t expect it to be a reality in today’s healthcare environment. Too often independent medical clinics feel like their only option is to be acquired by big health care. Aülto is excited to offer an alternative practice model that will enable AAIC to remain independent while providing the highest level of patient care.” |

April 2017 - Newly-formed professional management services company Aalto, LLC (d/b/a “Aülto”) announced it has acquired substantially all of the assets of Dr. Michael Wexler’s Advancements in Allergy and Asthma Care, Ltd. ("AAAC"), a regional provider of allergy, asthma, and immunology services and a highly regarded leader in food allergies based in Minnetonka, Minnesota. Aülto will provide clinical, administrative, and technology support to meet the changing needs of AAAC and its patients while focusing on improving quality of patient care, outcomes, and experience.
While many independent physicians have felt forced to consolidate with larger health systems, Aülto and AAAC share a view that improving patient care and the happiness of medical staff is most effectively accomplished in an independent setting. The combination of these entities is “exciting and gives us an opportunity to concentrate exclusively on providing individualized patient care”, said Dr. Wexler, who also indicated that Aülto “is a win-win for me and my patients.” Russ Rosckes, CEO of Aülto, confirmed the magnitude of the collaboration with AAAC. “We are very happy to have forged this relationship with Dr. Wexler and the team at AAAC. Aülto will strengthen the administration of a successful independent medical group and help it navigate the increasingly complex healthcare regulatory environment. Independent practitioners continue to have a place among larger health systems and Aalto will support and empower those who wish to focus their energy on providing high quality patient care." Jon Farnsworth, COO and General Counsel of Aülto, remains enthusiastic about the viable alternative Aülto offers to independent medical physicians and clinics. “Health systems dominate the medical landscape in most communities. Doctors, nurses, and other medical staff feel forced into large, corporate health systems where patient care may suffer and medical providers potentially become unhappy with their jobs. All too often, physicians selling their practice to hospitals give up their independent cultural identity and mission. Aülto is different in that the cultural identity and mission-focus on patient care remains paramount.” |
