How do Aülto services work for independent clinics and physicians?
Aülto services are a viable alternative for physicians to consider who wish to focus their energy on providing high quality patient care while not having to worry about the increasing business stresses associated with the practice of medicine and navigating the tricky regulatory environment. Through acquisition of your medical practice combined with a long-term management services agreement, Aülto services provide the day-to-day business functions necessary for clinics to prosper. Unlike some outsourced service companies, Aülto also assumes the burdens and risks associated with running your medial practice. As a physician, you gain peace of mind, stability, and assurance that our high quality team instilled with honesty and integrity will enhance the staff culture and patient experience you've worked so hard to create.
Dr. Michael Wexler, an accomplished and highly regarded allergist who is Board certified in both Immunology and Pediatrics, feels empowered by Aülto’s services, noting it gives him “an opportunity to concentrate exclusively on providing individualized patient care." Further, he believes Aülto services are “a win-win for me and my patients.”
Should I consider Aülto services if I'm already thinking of selling my practice to a health system?
Yes, in fact, before you sell your practice is the most ideal time to consider joining the Aülto family! There are a number of reasons why physicians seek a sale of their practice and often times feel pressured to join large health systems because the current healthcare environment has made it more difficult for independent physicians to exclusively focus on patient care as a result of increasing business demands and stresses associated with running a practice.
The idea of joining big health may initially seem attractive to independent physicians as hospitals are generally perceived to have vast resources and a deep understanding of physician interests. This, however, is typically not the case as large health systems tend to operate more like large bureaucratic corporations with often disjointed corporate cultures. Moreover, what is lost in the center of a transition to big health is the most important aspect of healthcare, the patient experience. Aülto's solution is focused on improving patient experience and satisfaction. We also know that most independent practices offer more personalized care and have built long-standing relationships with their patients. Aülto believes it is important to maintain this dynamic. As such, we offer a viable alternative to independent physicians seeking to sell their practice supported by our proven process and superior industry knowledge. We're happy to meet with you in person to discuss our solution and approach in more detail. We ask that you take the opportunity to consider Aülto services before committing to a decision that you may potentially regret.
What impact does joining the Aülto family have on my existing patient schedule?
Your patient schedule will remain in place upon joining the Aülto family which is an important factor to maintain the high-quality, personalized care you've established with your patients. Additionally, the ability to maintain your patient schedule will also allow you to keep the work/life balance and livelihood you've created, both of which may be lost by joining a larger health system. Aülto services also analyze and propose changes to patient scheduling that could potentially lead to improved patient experience, more efficient workflow, and greater job satisfaction of medical providers and personnel.
What impact does joining the Aülto family have on my existing staff?
Aülto is focused on empowering independent medical clinics, physicians, and their providers to deliver on what matters most - the health and well-being of their patients. The staff and culture independent practices establish are generally more focused on building long-standing relationships with their patients, a more inclusive staff that feels part of a family, and a positive energy within the practice enabling the whole team to contribute to the full cycle of the patient experience. Aülto services identify and implement incremental opportunities that could enhance efficiency or improve productivity and workflow.
What impact does joining the Aülto family have on my current and future patients?
A positive impact! Every member of the Aülto team, from tenured physicians to newly hired administrative personnel, is focused on making the patient experience seamless, painless, and memorable. Aülto can be trusted to treat your patients as you would treat your patients, with the utmost honesty, integrity, and respect. Patient word-of-mouth is the greatest referral source and marketing tool. Aülto strengthens the brand of your practice through consistent messaging, branding, web-based content, and social media. We're proud of our team and want people to know it!
Will I need to be re-credentialed with health insurance payors along with my other providers at Aülto?
No. The general structure of our business model allows medical groups, physicians, and mid-level providers to maintain their existing credentialing with health insurance payors. We've found this approach to be a source of efficiency offering consistency and continuity in operations through the process of integrating with Aülto services.
How are physicians compensated on the Aülto team?
Aülto offers employment agreements to its physicians. Unlike big health systems that generally utilize complex compensation arrangements that are based on wRVU productivity models (i.e. multiplying the number of wRVUs by dollar multipliers tied to a billable procedure), we make the equation simple.. We offer an annual salary with bonus opportunities as well. Additionally, our employment agreements include vacation time and reimbursement for continuing medical education.
What about all of the complicated regulatory compliance matters and quality and patient experience surveys?
Aülto's integrated and proprietary approach to practice management includes services that handle these matters, including federal, state, or payor related compliance requirements. In addition, Aülto's team has expertise in completing quality and/or patient experience related surveys often required by payor contracts, physician Maintenance of Certifications, and network affiliations (e.g. ACOs).
